Notice of Hydrant Flushing
The Evesham Municipal Utilities Authority will be flushing fire hydrants beginning Monday, October 5, 2020 through Friday, October 16, 2020 on a continuous around-the-clock basis, in various sections of the Township. This flushing is being done with the approval of the NJDEP in order to maintain the water quality throughout the system and clean out any build-up of mineral deposits and sediment inside the pipes. This also allows Authority personnel to ensure our hydrants are operational and to check fire flows in our system.
Flushing involves systematically opening the fire hydrants to increase water flows. All customers of the Evesham MUA should expect some rusty or cloudy water and temporary drops in water pressure when the work crews are in your area. Please click here for the flushing schedule to determine when we will be flushing in your area.
Discolored water is not harmful and will clear within a few hours. However, the washing of clothes is not advised during this operation.
The annual flushing of our distribution system will be performed in a minimal amount of time in order to restore proper service as soon as possible.
